Eveythings to know about Skill Assessment from Engineers Australia

skill assessment from engineers australia

Engineers Australia is in charge of assessing the skills of engineers interested in migrating to Australia. Australia offers skilled applicants the opportunity to work, live, and even study here. It puts significant importance on skilled immigrants and has provided work opportunities.

Applicants must go through their assessment process to effectively migrate to Australia. Before submitting a visa application, applicants must first complete a skill assessment.

Engineers Australia will examine applicants’ educational credentials, work experience, competence, skills, and English language level during the skill assessment. As an applicant, you have several options for your migration skill assessment. Engineers Australia will not conduct a pre-assessment. As a result, it will be up to you to choose the best solution for you.

Pathways for a successful Skill Migration by Engineers Australia

Engineers Australia has defined a total of six application pathways for migration skills assessment.

a) Accredited qualifications

     1) Australian Qualifications

     2) Washington Accord Qualifications

     3) Sydney Accord Qualifications

     4) Dublin Accord Qualifications

     5) Other Recognised Qualifications

b) Non-Accredited qualifications

     6) Competency Demonstration Report (CDR)

Accredited Qualification is Australian and overseas engineering qualifications that are recognized through formal international agreements. Whereas non-accredited qualifications are not recognized globally, and that is why a CDR report is needed for applicants from a non-accredited background.

Skill Assessment Fee Structure

The application fee for skill assessment is provided on the website of Engineers Australia. You will be charged an additional fee for the additional service provided. You will get a discount if you submit the regular assessment and additional service applications simultaneously. You can pay with a credit card (American Express or Master Card) or with BPAY. Because EA will not return the cost, make sure you verify your application before submitting it.

Only candidates in Australia are subject to the GST tax, which is 10% of the application fee.

Process of Skill Assessment

Engineers Australia’s online portal/dashboard allows you to check the status of your competence skill evaluation. Your assessor will send you an email asking you to finish the system’s work if there are any document requirements or missing files. After that, you can log into your account portal and provide the required information.

Validity and result of skill assessments

If your assessment is accepted, an assessment outcome letter for migration purposes will be sent to you via email by the EA assessor. It will be mailed to your migration agent if you have a designated one. On the assessment outcome verification page, you can check the outcome letter online.

When it comes to the validity of the outcome letter, Engineers Australia does not consider an expiration date for the outcome letter. On the other hand, the Department of Home Affairs’ validity policy differs from Engineers Australia. If the Department of Home Affairs requires an updated letter, you must contact Engineers Australia for more information and a full payment form to acquire one.

Review and Appeal for Applied Skill Assessment Application

Are you happy with the outcome letter from Engineers Australia? If you believe your evaluation did not turn out as planned, you can file a review and appeals application. Within three months of receiving your outcome letter, you must submit a review application. You’ll need to make the necessary adjustments to the “Outcome Letter for  Application Review” form. You must attach a cover letter that explains why you are requesting a review. You will not be able to add any more information that you did not include in your application. If you are not satisfied with the results of your review application, you can file an appeal.

After receiving your review conclusion letter, you must file an appeal application. Within six months of getting your original outcome letter, you must apply. You must complete and submit an Application for Appeal of the Assessment Decision, as well as the appeal application cost. The appeal application is the last step in the review process.

Suppose the conclusion of these applications is the same as the initial assessment outcome letter and submit no additional documents. In that case, EA will reimburse the amount paid for the review and appeal application.
