    • You must meet one of the following three criterion:
      • Your nominated occupation is open on the ACT Occupation List at date of Matrix submission.

      • You are the primary holder of a subclass 457/482 visa sponsored by an ACT employer; The 457/482 visa must have a minimum 12 months validity at date of Matrix submission

      • You have at least five years continuous ACT residence immediately before the date of matrix submission (and continuing until date of invitation). You may be working in any occupation.

    • You may also work for more than one ACT employer or be self-employed on an ABN. If you are employed by a NSW employer, your employer must have an office / branch located within a 30 minute commute of Canberra (a serviced office or home office does not meet this criterion). You must demonstrate that your work activity is solely located in the ACT. Please note: internships, stipends, scholarships and volunteer positions are not considered employment for this criterion.

    • You must be currently employed full time. Your skills and at least 12 months continuous experience (within the last three years) in the nominated occupation must be relevant to the ACT economy. Experience in heavy industry, manufacturing, production, mining, shipping, oil/gas, head office banking and railways for example, are not generally considered relevant industries given the structure of the ACT economy, which is primarily knowledge-based.

    • You and/or any dependents must not be the holder of a current Australian visa (or bridging visa), except an Australian visitor visa.

    • You must be overseas at date of Matrix submission. If you are ranked and invited to apply for ACT nomination, you must be overseas at date of invitation for ACT nomination. If you hold or have held an Australian visa, you must attach a copy of your ‘International Movement Record’ from Home Affairs.

      Applicants who enrolled in a Tasmanian tertiary institution after 31 July 2017 must meet the Australian study requirement through study in Tasmania. So they must complete a two year study in Tasmania and have lived in the state during the period of study. The applicant and their dependants must be in Tasmania at time of application.

    • Available to Tasmanian international graduates who have been living in the state for at least 12 months and have studied for a minimum of one academic year (40 weeks) in Tasmania; The course undertaken must be full time and be either a bachelor or any higher degree, a diploma, an advanced diploma, or a trade qualification (minimum Cert III level for a skilled occupation in Major Group 3 in ANZSCO);

    • have been working in Tasmania for six months immediately prior to the application in any fields (for a minimum of 35 hours per week); You and your dependents must currently be living in Tasmania; Your employer must have a well-established business that has been actively operating in Tasmania for the past 12 months. If your employment is for a position at ANZSCO skill level 4 or 5, your employer must also provide evidence that no local person was able to fill the position;
